Fundulus grandis or Gulf killifish is the most common minnow species in the Bolivar area (Gulf coast area in Texas).
This is the largest of the coastal killifishes and may reach 8” at maturity.
Know to inhabit very inhospitable saltwater environments, including marshes and shallow mud flats where extremes of temperature, water salinity, and low oxygen extremes occur frequently.
Fundulus Grandis is a locally favorite bait fish for coastal angles.
