The reds are starting to come in good now. starting to see them feeding around the oyster reefs with their back and tails showing above the water. Caught one black drum about 25# on dead shrimp Beachside September 01-02 2004 Conditions are good no waves, no seaweed, with good water clarity. Saw some nice big schools of medium sized mullets on the beach getting dogged by some type of fish about 50 yards offshore. Bayside august 26/27th 2004 Catching Small flounders, Caught some nice reds yesterday the 26th one about 10# also caught some specks and small black drum, and a croaker. Beachside august 27th 2004 Water has been rough with a south wind blowing.No reports of any fish but there have been very few fishermen to report. Bayside august 19th 2004 Catching flounder on live shrimp and small mullets. Some Specks, Reds are mixed in with the flounders. The flounders are finally starting to move in in East bay and the Intracoastal canal. Beachside august 19th 2004 catching some small shark, water has been rough with a south wind blowing. Specks, sand trout, and sharks in the surf, at the north jetty. tides are still going out most of the day, falling low in the late evening. the seaweed is still minimal and the salt content was at 27 parts salt. Still some seaweed tides have been going out in the day and fall out at night. BaysideMay 24th - June 03, 2004 Kinda slow with windy conditions we have had a few fish caught. anglers caught a few reds one was 27 1/2 inch redfish, another 26 inch speck, some whiting, a few drum, some sheephead and a few flounders. Bayside / may 22nd - 24th 2004 Caught some nice keeper reds on mudminnows and live shrimp on the outgoing tide. also caught a few flounders most undersize. caught some specks, flounder and drum on live bait mjnnows and live shrimps. fishing has picked up some this week the water is getting salty again. winds are strong from the southwest the beach is rough and has some seaweed. Bay / Beachside / may 21st 2004 Reports of big reds and some black tips shark and black drum being caught on cut mullets and squid in the surf. The bayside is a little fresh right now at about 11 parts of salt. reports of decent gaftopsail catfish in the surf. Bayside / may 15th - 20th 2004 Still flounders with reds still being caught. some specks and some sand trout. The beach has had good reports of big reds and black tip sharks this week. most caught on cut mullets. some caught on bigger piggy pearch. also a large number of specks were caught in the surf last weekend. Bayside EastBay Dec 1st - 11th 2003 Good sized Redfish on mullets or mud minnows. small to medium speckeled trout on live baits. Bayside / East Galveston Bay Dec 12th - 15th 2003 Fair for reds some undersize most in the slot on live mudminnows - undersize reds on dead shrimp. Bayside Dec 16th - 29th 2003 Still Fair for reds slow at times some undersize most still in the slot on live mudminnows or mullets. Still Producing undersize reds on dead shrimp. catching a few specks during these weeks. Seeing more small mullets come in the ponds and canals again. Rollover January 1 - 4 fair to good fishing at the pass on the north side doing good on reds, black drum, and flounder early with the outgoing tide. the south side is good on reds and black drum in the afternoon with a good incoming tide Bayside January 1 - 3 Some redfish most still keepers but action is slow due to slow incoming tides. caught a few undersize specks on live minnows. Catching a flounder, or two here and there on live mullet. Plenty of sheep head and black drums on dead shrimps on Jan 3rd. Bayside Jan 4th Couple of flounder and lots of small keeper and undersized reds , sheephead, and black drums on dead shrimp. Mullets are in again, tides have been running high at night. all day incoming tides makes the fishing a little rough. Bayside Jan 4th - 14th A red or two here and there but not many fisherman due to the weather conditions here on the peninisula. undersize speckled trout and reds on dead shrimp. January tues 13th wed 14th foggy - expecting rain for the next two days with colder temperatures coming soon. Bayside Jan 15th - 23rd Slow not many customers our first year some caught a couple of reds on smaller mullets. Rollover Pass Jan 15th - 23rd Some reports of small flounders on the east bay side on an incoming tide. Some small bait robbers. Not may angler willing to brave these conditions this time of year Bayside Jan 23th - 31st Slow due to poor weather conditions we had a few fisherman come out and catch some smaller reds. all in all we have not had enough people here to make an accurate fishing report for these weeks. Rollover Pass Jan 23th - 31st Reports of some small flounder and reds until the 31st they started dredging in the bay behind the pass pumping the mud to the beach side for the geotube. Making water conditions bad at the pass. Bayside Feb 1 - 5th It has been cold and windy with lots of fresh water from the recent rains. It rained today the 5th and yesterday the 4th about 2 inches at Bayside. it will be turning windy and cold by tonight. The colder weather is expected by the weekend with a low scheduled to be about 35 degrees on Saturday morning. Rollover Pass february 20th 2004 Water conditions at the pass have improved as far as clarity it is still a little fresh. I did not see the dredge anywhere close and the weather is great expecting sunny weather with warm temps. come on down and have a good time. Bayside Feb 1 - 20th catching a few small drum and a red every noew and again. water is still kinda fresh at 8 parts per. with a low tide 12:49pm. come on down and have a good time. Rollover Pass march 5, 2004 catching a few trout at rollover and some whiting on the surf side. the bait camps are open the weather will be good with a light north wind on saturday with warm temps. Bayside march 5, 2004 slow, still not many fish yet, but we have had no fisherman in a couple of weeks. water conditions are improving, salt content is back to 16 parts and the water temp is at 63.4 water clarity is fair. Bayside march 6, 2004 Some anglers catching reds most undersize but a few keepers are coming in. conditions are warm and sunny Rollover Pass march 12, 2004 Reports of some small flounders being caught, a keeper or two starting to show up. they are also catching a few Black Drum and some smaller reds Bayside march 18, 2004 Catching some small flounders this week and a few small to keeper reds. Rollover Pass march 18, 2004 catching a some nice trout reports of some reds around 27 inches reported from 4 star quality bait Bayside march 28, 2004 slow fishing with high tides strong south winds Bayside march 29, 2004 The northern has came in today stronger winds today. water temps are at 81 in the canals water salinity is at 14-15 parts. clarity is not very good. Reports of some good stringers of reds and speck at stingeree cut and a few canals off the intracoastal canal. Also reports of some good bull reds and drum in the surf. bait croakers,mullets, piggys showing up more frequently along with some more small flounders. April 24 2004 We have been catching some flounders, a few reds and drums. still reports of whiting in the surf.
